Disctherapy

Another option for interventional pain therapy is percutaneous disc decompression. Instruments are guided into the intervertebral disc through small incisions of the skin and small amounts are sucked off the intervertebral nucleus. The treatments are almost all in local anesthesia with easy sedation and very often in outpatient treatment feasible.

The indication for percutaneous decompression exists when conservative treatment options, including CT-based injection therapies, have shown no or only insufficient improvement in your chest or lumbar pain.

By decompression your disc is treated as a possible cause of pain directly. As a first measure, a discography (graphical representation of the intervertebral disc) will clarify whether one or more of your intervertebral discs can be considered as pain generators or pain generators. If the discography finding is positive, one or a few of the five different percutaneous disc decompression procedures are available to treat your disc degeneration. In the case of negative discography findings, operative therapy is usually indicated.

Percutaneous disc decompression is one of the minimally invasive techniques that, with the help of tomographic image control, represent a safe and usually efficient method in the treatment of therapy-resistant small herniated discs or disc protrusions.

Discography Discography is a suitable method to diagnose the refractory back pain caused by degenerated discs. At the same time, the indication for percutaneous decompression can be provided in the case of a herniated disc.

Decompression: If the diskography finding is positive and / or there is an intact disc herniation / protrusion, an interventional procedure in percutaneous technique is possible. Depending on the disc findings, both back and leg pain can be treated.
